J. Scott, MD is one of New Jersey’s preeminent
ophthalmologists. A private practicing physician in
East Orange, NJ since 1983, Dr. Scott is a graduate
of Cornell University in Ithaca, NY and Robert Wood
Johnson Medical School in Piscataway, NJ. He
completed his internship in 1980 at United Hospital
Medical Center of Newark and his residency in 1983
in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University
of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Dr. Scott
has been certified by the American Board of
Ophthalmology since 1985. He served as a clinical
assistant professor in the Department of
Ophthalmology at the University of Medicine and
Dentistry of New Jersey from 1988 to 2005.
Currently, he serves as an associate attending at
East Orange General, Newark Beth Israel Medical
Center, and University Hospital.
Dr. Scott is
Chief of the Division of Ophthalmology at East
Orange General Hospital and also serves as a trustee
on the East Orange General Hospital Board of
Trustees. Dr. Scott is very involved in the medical
community and is a member of various medical
organizations. He is a member of the National
Medical Association and is a past president of the
New Jersey chapter, the North Jersey Medical
Society. Dr. Scott is also a diplomate of the
American Academy of Ophthalmology, a fellow of the
American Academy of Ophthalmology, and is a member
of the New Jersey Academy of Ophthalmology and the
American Society of Cataract and Refractive
Surgeons. Most honorably, Dr. Scott is one of the
founding members of the Caribbean Medical Mission, a
humanitarian group which has been delivering
healthcare to the needy in the West Indies since
1998.
A native of
Jamaica, Dr. Scott has been married for 30 years and
has three children. |
